About This Event
Get ready to build, float, and win! United We Float is United Way of Hood County’s inaugural annual cardboard boat race for charity, making a splash on September 26th at Granbury City Beach during Lakefest! Whether you are launching a crew or cheering from the shore, we have three divisions ready to hit the water: Kids, Open, and Charity. The charity that gathers the most votes takes home the official “United We Float” cash prize!
Division Entry Fees (per group)
- Kids Division (Ages 12-17): $30
- Open Division (Ages 18+): $150
- Charity Division: Free

Every division will recognize champions in three categories:
- Fastest Boat
- People’s Choice
- Best Sinker
Boat Construction Rules
To keep the playing field level and fun, boats may only be built using cardboard, tape, and water-resistant paint. No plastic liners, fiberglass, foam, wood, metal, additional sealants, or extra flotation devices are permitted.
